You'd be better off being based out of Bradley vs Logab if you can.
Amherst itself pretty much checks all the boxes for things you like.
If your significant other is at Amherst college one car is probably fine, they will be very busy doing school work for the next 4 years. And it's a very walkable area with decent public transportation to shopping if needed.

Any specific regions you need to more heavily because of work/office constraints. Do you need access to Hartford, or NYC, or Boston forcwork reasons??
Otherwise based off your limited criteria, I'd focus on West Hartford, Farmington valley, S Windsor and glastonbury.
We tend to be a blue state, but we're not preachy about politics or religion for the most part.

People tend to take for granted the things that are have always been in their own backyards.
You're young. You will appreciate it more when you're older and you've moved away to some other s*** hole part of the country like Florida.

Baker is one of those candidates who could only survive in the better educated States as a Republican.. He's not so radical that he's going to push his own agenda against the will of the general population.
As a recovering Republican who is now an independent, I think he would actually be good at the national level, but he would never get elected because He's too competent for the Republican party on a national level.

Where we are in the Berkshires we get 0. Our neighborhood there is remote and has no kids. We spent it at our house on CT ( also kind of remote) and had about 65, which is about double our normal tally. We almost ran out of candy!... I had to dig into my personal stash of peanut butter cups to make it through!!

Great place, but they always seem to be out of a few menu items. But that's forced us out of our comfort zone to try different items so it was fine.

Quality of like should be the priority here. It seems like you won't be homeless or in danger of living check to check whether you stay or move..
If you will be happier in your new location then ~$50-100k over 10 years seems like a nominal price to pay.
You can't make up for time lost with any amount of $$. So move if you'll ultimately be happier.

Less driving ( and adjusting yearly mileage on insurance to reflect that), being able to eat at home. Less side trips or stops on the drive home since you're not driving to work often. Less "hey let's go get lunch" or "stop somewhere for a beer after work," etc.
No midday trips to the coffee machine or snack machine...
We have a nice sunlit office in winter which negates the need for as much heat. And in the summer, trees shade it to help with cooling...
But ultimately it comes down to self discipline. ...

Does this include any type of warranty or monitoring services?
We spoke with somebody recently and they were at $3.5/W. Cash deal. Supposedly these were the most efficient panels they offered. This included coverage for any service calls, panel defects, and roof/panel interface, but not acts of God...
Would be interested to know any companies people have had good experience with, that we could contact still...

You mean like all this stop the steal bullshit, none of which is based in any fact whatsoever. It's a shame that snowflake couldn't accept the fact he lost, and had to lie to his followers, and kill a bunch of people while doing it.
Those are facts...

Stop spreading the right wing Iies about his wife's investment firm. That deal was cleared of any suspicion or conflicts, quite a while back. Not that republicans care about the truth anymore...
It was just one of dozens, if not hundreds, of companies an investment firm may have interested in, and she is just 1 of many partners in that business anyway.
It's not like this was the former president pushing his daughter's clothing line in violation of the Hatch Act..... Not that any republicans cared about that...
Could you let me know a little bit more about Bobs dealings with Saudi Arabia please? Could you give us a little more information about the loanshark business he ran?
Maybe these random lies and misleading statements work in the stupid states. But I think you're forgetting Connecticut is one of the most well educated States in the country.

We've had moderate Rs and Ds in the big office. Paid down debt. Lowered crime. Not sure which conspiracy line you're pushing here...but at least one party has several candidates who openly deny facts. I have a hard time with that....
I'm independent, have voted for R and D at all state levels....

I spend about 4-5mo/yr in the Berkshires ( This shot is technically East of Berkshire county). The roads are absolutely incredible. I have 3 high performance cars, but the roads are so good they're just nice to drive on and take in the scenery. No need to hammer it, because you'll miss something beautiful. Riding would be even more incredible because these roads are never crowded and are curvy. Just watch out for the leaves...
And your GPS will crap out in various spots, but I know the area well enough it's not a concern for me. And some roads will suddenly just turn into gravel. If you're not familiar with the area preload the maps, save them, or print paper copies. Trust me, you'll need them if you're not familiar with with the area.

I actually pulled over on that dirt patch on the right about 10' in front of that view.
There are so many great places out there. Even once you cross the bridge a mile South of there, there's just too many roads that have so many beautiful spots on them. For anybody in the area, barring major storm, I'm guessing leaves are going to be good for another 1.5 wks or so out that way.

It's kind of a running joke that we try to discourage others from discovering our hidden little piece of western mass. We hope people love it here, but many fear it will become too crowded, expensive, crime will increase, etc.
To the point SoCo voted against an exit on the Mass Pike in the middle of that stretch between Westfield and Lee where there are no exits for 36 miles. It could have opened up the region for housing for people who worked in the Westfield/Springfield area but too many people were afraid of the potential for change...

Zerah Fiske Rd. (Not to be confused with the much shorter, but still scenic Lucy Fiske Rd.)

Plenty of restaurants in the center and blue back square if you enjoy good food.. Depending on what day of the week, you may need to make reservations days in advance at some places though.
Lots of good museums, New Britain museum of art, the Mark Twain House, the Wadsworth, Hill Stead, etc.
