Reply to Male alcohol use has a significant negative influence on in vitro fertilization success rates, increasing patient financial burden and emotional stress. Study reveals that the more a male drinks before providing sperm for an IVF pregnancy, the less likely the pregnancy will be successful. by MistWeaver80
Maybe the lab techs shouldn't be drinking so much before going to work?
Jokes aside, I'm glad this is getting visibility. It's not even about the science, everyone knows alcohol is bad for the sperm, but it's a good social-policy comment, to remind people who are having trouble conceiving that you really do want to try your best to do everything "right" to reduce the physical, emotional, and fiscal cost of the ordeal.
I'll also add that those of you who think alcohol will work as birth control...yeah, that's definitely going to be fine.

Reply to I’m considering trying out “The Old Republic” but don’t really have any experience with games like this. Any advice before starting? Should I even try it? by Trevor-On-Reddit
It's an excellent single-player game and a somewhat below-average multi-player game. And I must stress. It's an excellent single-player game. It will be difficult to be disappointed.

The taxi system is a bloated, anachronistic mess, competing with rideshares, an exploitative, underregulated mess.
The reality is both of these systems are taxis. The only difference is how they're hailed. Regulation and pay need to move toward a sanity that is fair to all the drivers in both systems.

Reply to Tolerance for the Free Speech of Outgroup Partisans [Both sides of the political divide expressed high overall levels of support for free speech - Republicans more so than Democrats] by i_have_thick_loads
"Both sides" are willing to moderate hate speech, but one side conveniently doesn't define bigoted speech as hate.
Science will keep being bad as long as it keeps being political. And until scientists recognizes that centrism is a political stance, nothing will change.

Reply to Men of Reddit, when a guy says “i like you because you give me attention” what does that mean? Is that a good thing? Or do i need to run? by [deleted]
Context. Use judgement. Objectively analyze how he treats you. Could just be an honest expression. It's no secret that men are largely starved for attention in Western society. Unless he's the 6'3" trust-fund-baby "legacy" captain of the football team...there's a fair chance he's just glad to have someone who looks at him as something other than a money-making device.

Funny I was watching a podcast on the very subject of police lying just the other day.
Pro-tip: When the police say "we believe" it means they're lying.

This is effectively a surrender. It's definitely not Vietnam. Putin can't hold any ground in Ukraine. He'll be lucky to keep Crimea.

Y'all be making "One Night In Bangkok" references but "Nobody's Side" is the real soul of the show.
