If you’re still rocking a PS4 then I think the Series S is perfect for you. With gamepass and backward compatibility there’s plenty on the console to play at a fraction of the price.
Things to consider:
-Storage space is less than the Series X (which I assume isn’t too important to you at the moment if you’re on a PS4)
-Resolution on the Series S does not support 4K, however it does support 1440p (most people don’t own a 4K tv today so this may not be important)

Having an X and a 4K TV, I’d recommend the Series S. 1440p and 120FPS is as good/good enough at half the cost.

It's my Pokemon console.
I sold my OG switch last year preparing for the Switch 2.0 (that never came). I've been debating buying a Switch (again) just to play the new Pokemon. I just cant talk myself into spending more money on console that's older and cost more than a Xbox Series S.

The Series S console targets 1440p (or QHD) at up to 120FPS. However, players with 4K TVs the Xbox Series S will upscale games to 4K to fit the confines of your television.
