In 1831 the Swedish Navy planted over 300,000 oak trees with the intention of harvesting them for ships 150 years later...they still keep track of them but there aren't any current plans to harvest them.

Did you know they just made up the thing that you should use diamonds to get engaged, and even that you should spend at least a few months of salary on it.
