If it were me, I would not waste my time with either of those approaches. I would either get some highly contaminated piece of equipment that had been used near the core or an actual spent fuel rod from the cooling basin and use that. I heard on Blumberg that the Ukrainians were reporting that the Russian commanders were seen pulling out of one of the regions and leaving the conscripts and mercs behind to hold the line. That would be my guess for where they will set it off.
