Reply to CPA says I owe federal taxes; payroll says they withheld everything correctly. I don’t know where to go from here. by contessamiau
Employer would take taxes out depending on how your W4 was filled out and the amount of wages.
Even if the employer didn't take the correct amount there is nothing to be done about it now. You are responsible for your taxes whether thru payroll or paying now.
So IMO paying CPA to go thru paycheck will not help.

There isn't anything you can do.
Curious what tax savings do you think H&R Block is missing on your patents return? Backdoor Roth and 529 do not effect federal tax returns.

The amount of existing mortgage doesnt matter.
The capital gains stack on top of other income.

How much do you have saved for downpayment and closing cost? Rule of thumb is a mortgage of no more then 3x your yearly salary.
There is more to owning a house then the mortgage payment, thing like insurance, taxes maintenance etc.

" I'm holding it in the traditional IRA until I hit the max contribution amount, which I'll then rollover to Roth." Not understanding what this means?
