That is almost identical to how my hair looked when I got out of bed yesterday. I have no clue what I was doing with my pillows to get my hair to stick up like that on both sides of my head. That is all.

I definitely think that you can improve with some techniques and practice, but some people are just tone deaf. If it makes you happy and you are doing it for yourself I say go for it.
