Switching from my X, which was first gen Face ID, which was ok, but not the fastest and struggled at some angles, to the 14 pro, is like switching from 3G to 5G, it’s fast, can do multiple angles (just about does laid flat on desk) and what blew my mind was that it does landscape Face ID. No complaints here.

Main differences are the cameras, 12mp vs 48mp main shooter and a 3X optical zoom, plus the screen is 120hz and AOD. My wife got the 14 plus and I got the 14pro; she takes good pictures but I can tell the improvement on mine. Main issue with the island is that it cuts into some video content whereas the notch only cuts in on full screen.

Aramid fibres (Kevlar), claims to be stronger than steel 🤷🏻 I had one for my iPhone X, survived being dropped down the stairs several times, into the bath and from the loft bouncing off a metal ladder with only minor scuffs than cleaned away. Doesn’t claim to be anything other than a tactile case that’s ultra slim; but I’ve only ever had to replace screen protectors after 4 years of use. Only visible damage on the 5 year old phone is some scratches on the glass edge above the notch.

What colour is it? I have the apparently purple iPhone 14 pro and the pictures don’t represent it in real life at all. May have well have gone space black as the purple looks more like the graphite of my iPhone X except in exceptional light. Bought a clear case thinking it’d be worth it over a aramid slim but ended up switching asap.

You need to keep 5-10% of your storage free for your phone to run efficiently. Tricky in this day and age I know; 64GB just wasn’t enough (even at release from around the 7/8/X onwards), 128gb+ is about right for most users.
