My understanding was that flying wings were really hard to control back then. This has obviously been solved with computers, but I guess the aviation industry moves kinda slowly cause no one wants to spend a billion developing a new platform only for it to kill a few plane loads of people over some stupid issue.

WhereI am it’s pretty common for many, not all, Asian fishermen to go out and not have any clue how to swim or how to get back on their boat.

Most people would think they are crazy or stupid.

By saying Asian fisherman I was explaining why someone would be on the water and be unable to swim. They had no business on the water as they put their lives and others in danger.

It might come across as racially prejudicial, but the vast majority of kayak rescues, where I worked, are Asian guys who can’t swim and their buddies are terrified to help… because they can’t swim either.

It is fucked up because you're asking a kid to make an adult decision.
Many adults can't accurately judge long-term consequences of their actions... kids are even worse at this.

It's shit that the other person is dead, but is it worth ruining both lives?
I don't know the right answer, but I don't think prison is it.

Ehhhh... they aren't really smart. They usually survive by reproducing faster then the predators and hoping for the best.

You'll see rock piles, where crickets like to live, and lots of spiders hunting there.

I suspect the spider showing up was timed around a natural die-off.
If they sense something sneaking up to them, they will stop sinking as many predators use the sound to find the insect.
In almost all cases it's the male that sits in one place and sings, the female comes to them, so they can't stop at every noise.

That is interesting but if you look at which party gave business more ability to lget more money in politics, it becomes pretty clear who the problem is. A litany of small changes by republicans every time they are in office has slowly been eroding away at the environment, Roe, and democracy makes democrats less effective every time they are in office. If conservatives can put the democrats in such a quagmire that nothing gets done when they are in power, the republicans just pick back up where they left off.
