It's probably close to $5-6 for that in Canada, like in the U.S and min wage is around $7.50. So, you both work an hour to earn enough in your own country for a junk food snack. Which, sucks. It should be like 15m tops for enough money for a soda and chips.

If bought in my area of the U.S. that would be $2 for the chips and $2.25 for the soda, plus tax. So a little over half an hours work at min wage.
