no i see the answer and think "wow i really didn't care about the problem in the first place" sorry but things in reality stopped impressing/interesting me many years ago.

that's exactly all humans are and i don't understand you could see anything "magical" about reality or anything inside it.

honestly there's not much that i as an individual could do as my access to resources is insignificant and i just not smart enough to put myself on the benefitting side let alone the side that'll be propelled to the top of society by it.
i think i would just be relieved that the singularity is happening so soon because even if my access to the technology it creates is limited/non existent at least my dreams/ambitions go from impossible to possible.

straight? it's nearly been a decade, how many decades do you want before you consider the possibility of bio-engineering babies? 2? 4? 7? eventually the health issues brought about by pollution will get much worse and the last generation to be impacted by them is going to blame everyone who was deliberately dragging their feet on this and they'll be right to do so.

whatever man the facts are human civilization is evolving way faster than the human body is, you've already got an obesity epidemic and diseases like Crohns that are getting worse and more widespread. It's only a matter of time before more negative effects pop up maybe these will finally be so bad you can't pretend it's not happening anymore.
Genome editing can fix such things but people including yourself apparently are too terrified of it's abuse to let it do anything.

you can all say whatever you want about him but that scientist has my respect, he had the balls to do what everyone was and remains too chickenshit to do.
probably be a century before it's "safe" for genome editing in humans.

very interesting. I always wondered about the hostility towards the quest to defeat aging and thought it was always just the crab mentality of people too afraid to take it but also afraid of being the only aging person in their social circles.
guess this reasoning is more rooted in reality.

"cheaper to make"
car manufacturers: gonna pretend i didn't see that, in fact pretty sure it's more expensive to make.

see there's a simple solution to that problem, it's this really cool trick for getting rid of tyrants and get this it's been around since forever but modern people seem to have completely forgotten about it
eliminating aging does not eliminate other sources of death, just the most certain one.

Not quite to the level I'd like to see but it's a beautiful step forward in nanotechnology, here's hoping molecular nanobots are somewhere on the horizon.

you're not the first one to bring up "skill issue" when I've expressed my utter disappointment in all things real, is the human game of socialize work and sleep really so much fun for you guys? is this limited world lacking of anything fantastical really so impressive for all of you?
i've tried exceptionally hard to understand but all my efforts have been for naught. The only rational conclusion is that there's something necessary to the human experience i'm lacking but it's so fundamental no one would even think of mentioning it.
