This doesn't make sense either. There's a reason those medians exist. Safety. They have wide medians, cable barriers, jersey barriers, etc designed to protect cars from crossing over. Imagine a small family sedan crossing into the median now, they get beheaded by solar panels as they crash through them. Or if they are raised up, now you've got a forest of metal poles to smash in and through.
And that's not including the need to clean them from salt, dust, brake dust, exhaust fume collections, etc. It's a maintenance nightmare alone.
We don't need long ass narrow panels like this. We just need a few acres scattered about with correctly oriented solar panels and you'll get as much if not far more yield than this bullshit idea. And you don't have any of those previous problems. This very much is "Solar freaking roadwards" shit

We lost power around 6 and I had to get my generator out. Protip I guess, make sure its dug out before you need it. I had to chip away ice, rip off the frozen solid generator cover, try to plug it into the house, bend the nema plug, struggle for pliers to bend it back, flashlight went out, crawl in the dark holding my hand along the house to find the door, finally get the prongs bent and plugged in, get generator started, power back on.
Was rough. Gotta plan better next time. Thankfully we got power back about 4 hours later

7500 watt champion that has around a 6 gallon tank I think. I can run it 12 hours or so on the tank but I also have a wood stove for heating so the only thing it's powering is like, starlink, computer, small space heater, fridge, freezer, well pump. I could probably extend it even more if I sealed the freezer, turned off the water heater, etc

Yea it's a little disappointing. I've lived in Florida the last 12 years or so and haven't seen snow on Christmas for so long, I was hoping to have some. Looks like there's still a bit left in my area but now it's mostly a sheet of ice and I can't get down the mountain. Stuck in house

I'm on a gravel back road with 4 houses. Only 2 full time residents, the other 2 don't live here except for hunting/fishing. The mail truck doesn't even come up here. Town of 400 or so. I lost power around 3:30, reported it immediately, was fixed by 7:30. It's not always that they don't care about small roads

This dog gets so much outside fetch time in the snow. We take this giant purple rubber ball and I roll it down the plowed driveway, or throw it into the deep snow in the woods and he has to go bounding up and over snow piles to find it

Starlink baby. I just moved to one of those counties in August, up from Florida. Starlink is the only option here besides HughesNet, but it is great
