Reply to WIRED computer mouse. I'm particularly interested in one with a cable that will not fray. They seem to fray very shortly after I get them. I want the cable to be like a quarter of an inch thick. I don't care if the thing weighs 5 lbs. My budget is $200. by TheJawsofIce
If your wire is fraying, you need to address that first. Is it dragging on things? Are you bending it at extreme angles?
The simple solution might be cable management, via some sort of mouse bungie?
Or get a wireless mouse with a wired option for charging/use.
No wire would solve your fraying wire problem, but you gotta do what’s best for you

Also, tangentially related, Seki is a Japanese brand that makes BIFL quality grooming tools like nail clippers, etc. i mean, if you’re already in Japan, it’s worth checking out

Ear plugs are going to be better. There’s a reason why gun ranges have you use both ear plugs and over the ears protection.
Sorry to hear that you have such shitty neighbors.

Also depends on what you’re trying to clean…someone mentioned Larq, which is great for bacteria, etc.
But won’t do anything for hard water or even coffee residue.
If you are having residue from other liquids, they have these tablets you can drop in your bottle to clean them or you can use baking soda and vinegar (like grade school science projects). They also sell bottle brushes that fit into the small opening but still scrub the sides and bottoms real well.
But all the widemouthed and insulated options from the other comments are fantastic as well, just wanted to throw in some solutions if you wanted to keep using your old gear

Always grab stuff on sale at their outlet. Looks great, fits great, and most importantly, priced great, even after all these years

Yes, that water boiler is amazing. Wife goes through one 3.4 liters of boiling water every two days (she doesn’t like cold water and she drinks a lot of water every day). Best damn money I’ve spent, imho, gets daily use and keeps water piping hot. Just so damn convenient.
And every once in a while if I want tea or a hot drink, I can just pop in to the kitchen, press a button, and instant hot drink!

A cheap and nice smelling hack is to wipe it with dryer sheets. I do that with my baseboards because they are dust magnets

Costco stands by their products. They keep digital receipts of your purchases so if you do have an issue with a product purchased at Costco, you can go and get it replaced. I'm sure some people have abused the system, but their policy (as far as I know) is to always replace the product, no questions asked (or refund if you don't want a replacement). Never had to use it myself, but it's one of the reasons I shop there.
