I think it comes down to whether the drivers perform like a beryllium driver or it’s just another dynamic driver headphones.

Tidal MQA seems to clean up the vocalists echoes around the mic. It also brings up sub-bass giving off the general “bass boost” effect. I prefer this most of the time 👌.

Apple Music makes live music sound more natural, but if you’ll notice 90% of the time the echoes are left in the track, which also makes some vocalists sound more airy. You get the sense of the stage and the distance from the mic.

I mainly use YouTube/music to discover some new artists not popular enough to be suggested by Tidal or Apple.

Did your order get processed by Monoprice? Although Amazon shows they processed my order. Monoprice still haven’t sent out the confirmation email with tracking?

Woot woot! The Monoprice confirmation and shipping info came into the junk mail. 🙌😝

Bought! Best deal ever

Just so you guys know, they got layering and depth like no other. The bass is soft and controlled.

Can’t wait to receive the Closed back version. 😎

You kind of get the sound around the mic, like that hollow sound or echo from the recording room.

Tidal seems to have gotten rid of that effect. It’s like Apple Music has that raw quality while Tidal masters them to sound like they’re from a studio.

Tried it for 2 weeks on windows. Even though it’s only in a browser for now, it sounded better than Quobuz and Amazon HD.

It sounded more airy than Tidal.

Anyway definitely 👍 😊

When I found the sound signatures and qualities that I like the most, my purchases increased.

Just like PC hardware, when you know more, you know what to get and essentially go out and get them.

I think this hobby has a few up and downs just like a stock market.

At first you start with nothing, so anything you buy you’re going up. But I’d argue you’re not fully satisfied with each purchase, but is finding out through elimination what fits you.

There’s a peak where you say, wow I know exactly the sound signature I like and relatively what gear I need. So you might start selling all the gear you’ve been through. This is where the graph trends downward. You’re losing gear yet you’re recuperating ❤️‍🩹 some investment.

Then there’s the big spikes. This is necessary as you’re finally making some big purchases left and right. You know you’ve gained success when the gear you suspect turns out to be what you were aiming for. You’ve developed YOUR very own price to happiness ratio.

I think afterwards might be some flat lining as you’ve reached $ to performance and is just cruising.

before you invest in SUPER expensive cables. First try a pair of OFC copper and Pure Silver. If you can't tell the difference between them, you likely shouldn't keep spending more $$ on Cryo treated $580+ X Symphony Pure Silvers. haha

Is the paper mod placed inside the cups? Then I’d imagine that would decrease clarity. Anyway maybe they sound the same but the guy shows measurements of before and after so there is a measurable difference.

You of course can copy his method with similar materials if you like. 😇
