You see, the joke is that I substituted profanity with the name of a company that is enunciated the same way.

That said company doesn't produce portable music players is kinda besides the point lol.

It's a great entry to automatics as the older Seiko 5s start to become absurdly expensive.

For a dive watch it's got very reasonable dimensions & the build quality/finish makes it look fantastic for an affordable piece.

Gotta remember to keep that crown screwed down though lol.

I want a pair of these but cannot possibly justify them right now after buying new cans on Black Friday. Would love to stumble upon a good deal for them later this year.

Partially because I really like my K240s and would love more premium AKG sound.

Mostly because K-ON!! is an easy top 10 anime imo & they'd look nice next to my Mio nendoroid.

Would recommend trying different earpads, stock is fine but I much prefer mine after getting some thicker pads. The swap is super easy too.

A shorter cable is also nice given how long the stock cable is.

It's a great headphone for the price. Going from bad closed backs to k240s felt like ascending to a higher level of music detail. Love the soundstage, the comfy fit & how it makes acoustic guitar sound.

Hope you enjoy em.

I used a Razor Electra for years, good lord that was a terrible headphone.

New to the hobby myself, never used the DT 770 but I was considering a pair up until recently. Should be a big step up in quality, hear almost universal praise for it.

Volume wise, it's not that the headphones are loud or quiet. It's that your source can only make them sound so loud given the signal strength it can produce.

Some sort of headphone amp would get you more volume, might improve the sound in general if your current source is on the underpowered side.

As to the lack of punch you mentioned, there's a whole world of equalizing to explore to customize the sound profile of your headphones. Bit over my head at my current knowledge level though.

It's a very cheap Chinese portable amp off Amazon I got for like $20. Its smaller than a deck of cards & I swear the battery is just rattling around in there. Would not recommend, but I made a cheap impulsive buy to satisfy my curiosity.

That said... it does the trick. Boosted the k240s nicely while adding a touch more bass. Didn't notice any crackle or distortion, even with the Moondrop Chu or Aria SE.

Sounds like you're looking to amp from a TV & I've sadly got no clue on that front. Best of luck finding a solution!

I got a cheap portable headphone amp a while back to give my AKG k240s a volume bump from my Samsung tablet/phone. Never had an amp before so I figured a cheap demo would let me form an opinion.

I forgot how much I like having knobs over buttons for volume lol. Just feels better physically dialing it in exactly as you want it. Can't really say it made a huge difference in sound, just more volume and a knob to turn.

Even if ONLY for that and as long as you've got the money to spare, nothing wrong with a cheap desktop amp. It's your money, you do you.
