Never seen Shameless and I'm not big on TWD but BCS and Mr Robot are worth finishing. Both have "low points" in season 2 but overall are very strong shows with fantastic endings.

- Having someone from the games working actively on the show.
- Having the showrunner/writers genuinely care about the material.
- Mostly following the major beats of the story, expanding/changing as needed for a TV medium.
Then of course being somewhere like HBO with a good budget helps considerably as well but I really believe LoU succeeded because of those three points. Neil and Craig make a fantastic team and it really showed.

Oh cool so we'll get a movie directed by Elizabeth Banks in a couple years then.

Scrubs had quite a few gut punch episodes but I still think that one hurt the most. Damn good show.

Cautiously optimistic about this. It's unnecessary but still has the potential to be good. I'm assuming Bill Skarsgård will return?

More like $80 for the PPV on top of the ESPN+ subscription. When something like 15% of the revenue goes to the fighters. Then the company wonders why people pirate it.

It was the best finale I'd ever seen when I watched it originally 10 years ago, and still was when I rewatched it last year.

Depends on the show but most times 3-5 seasons is usually my preference. Tell your story and be done with it, no need to stretch it out.

If you thought the first two episodes were slow it might not be for you. Keep in mind the teens were stranded for over a year and a half, and the writers have a 5 season outline, so it's going to have some build-up before the real crazy stuff happens.
That said, I do think it continued to improve as the season went along. There are a lot of interesting characters in the show and the overall mystery in the adult storyline is pretty solid. However, I was hooked just from the first episode so take that as you want.

No particular order but David Simon, Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Craig Mazin, Mike Flanagan, and Trey Parker.
Also Sam Esmail although I've only seen Mr. Robot as far as his work.

Gonna admit I don't know how to gage it but I don't believe so. It's about as popular as it was pre pandemic, meaning there's absolutely a huge demographic for it and I don't want to act like it's not "popular" but I don't think Covid got more people into it. Maybe though, I really don't know lol

Mr. Robot. So many people unfortunately bailed during the odd (but important) slow burn season 2 and never got the beautiful payoff.
The Leftovers as well. Season 1 is so dark and bleak but it really transformed into something magnificent with the last two seasons.

I thought season 3 had a strong run with 5-8, then season 4 aired. Honestly think 407 will stick with me forever.

As far as just straight dramas go if The Wire didn't exist Mr. Robot would be my personal pick for TV GOAT. I agree with the general consensus season 2 is a bit too slow, but the pay off is worth it and I don't have a bad thing to say about 1, 3, or 4.
To think about the way that show starts and then where it ultimately leads... just a remarkable journey. It's batshit, it's thought provoking, and it's wrapped up in such a perfect way that I really do think it deserves to be up there with the best. Crazy it aired on USA Network lol

Is this show worth watching? I could be completely wrong but it looks like a Dexter rip off so just curious.
