He had a bone growth condition and an enlarged skull. They arrested Bruno Richard Hauptmann and executed him but evidence couldn't even place him near the Lindbergh's on the night in question. Meanwhile, Charles told the wife and wet nurse to stay away from Charles jr. Room from 8-10 p, when the wet nurse went into the room and discovered the baby missing, the wife and wet nurse assumed Charles had moved him. When told, Charles declared "They" have stolen our baby. This was before the ransom note was found. The mansion they were in was quite remote and would require a good amount of scouting to know exactly where it was, not to mention where the nursery was. Other oddities include them being at this location as it was still under construction and they would have usually been back in the city, doubly unusual when you consider how dedicated to routine Charles was. The man they arrested two years later was certainly no criminal mastermind and this job would have required great planning or unbelievable luck.
