I believe there is a filter in the fridge for the water. IDK for sure because I don't use that feature in my fridge.

What oldtimey_chain85 said, get another barrel and cut it in half. Modify the new piece so it will fit in the old pit. You may want to secure it with rivets or nut/bolts or weld but it probably isn't necessary. And now you'll have an extra half when needed.

On that broken screw, if you can get a needle nose locking pliers on it, you may be able to unscrew it. If you can't, use a Dremel type tool to cut a notch and then use a screwdriver to remove it. Use some type of spray loosening solvent, WD-40 or similar. Otherwise everything else is looking good, at least to me.
