You’re being way too paranoid about your battery. Use your phone. Battery replacement is not that bad if you don’t end up buying a new phone before you even need battery replacement.

I pre ordered and got mine day one. Had zero issues. Now it’s bad because of lockdowns and protests.

This. Sand particles/dirt in a case will scratch the back. Especially if you take it out of the case constantly.
On the bright side scratches are superficial. Phone will work just fine.

Nah. Just the port and they it works with existing usb c chargers.
As for the standard that could be any number of things that no one adds to phones. So I doubt they would even try that.
So as long as the new port meets the basic requirements Apple is done. EU would need to update their meaning if they don’t like it.
