I feel like this is still a very long time away. We might crack household quantum computing before organic machines. Organic machines IMO would have to many hurdles like manteinace, aging, infections and the like. From our profit driven economy they don't make sense.

This was the first and only film that Coppola made with his own studio that aimed at giving decent schedules and conditions to cast and crew. They gambled it all on this one movie to succeed and show the industry great movies could be made in a more humane way. And it did get some good critiques but in the end it cost so much and made back so little Coppola was paying his debt for the next 10 years or so.

Currently doing my process from LATAM. It's difficult to do it. Not only do you need the right qualifications on the right degree, but also an amount of money that takes years to gather on the local salaries.

I assume this is why china and India are so prominent. STEM degrees with a culture of savings translates to lots of immigrants with the right degrees and savings.

I mean, science and tech in the modern age focuses on efficiency, profit and extraction of value. And, if anything, the more global problems there are the more chance there is to monetize these problems.

And thing is this CA foster an anti science ideology where all technologycal advancement and innovation is bad. But how do we apply science to pressing social issues? Like sure we're advancing EV but no one cares about innovating public transportation, about making cheaper and more durable houses or making algorithms for more fair social welfare.
