They are a tech company that provides software solutions to local governments. In fact, they are the largest tech company in this market in the entire nation. Also they are on the S&P 500.

> They also are one of the only MSPs in the area and don’t employ software engineers even though that’s their title they employ tech support.

Im not sure what a MSP is, but they do employ local software engineers.

> They also are opening in Orono to offer an “affordable” solution to customers by hiring straight out of college employees they can pay less than market. Which only lasts until they get experience find their worth and then move on

They have struggled to hire anyone from UMaime, all of the graduates head south to Portland or beyond. They are hoping an actual tech office, closer proximity and more scholarship/internships opportunity will fix this. Yes, they could pay more. But I’m not sure they have any jobs at 20 an hour (maybe they do, but I’d be surprised).

Edit: yes we need another tech company in the area. They have no competition up here besides the banks.

I live in the Palmyra area, Somerset county. Belfast is 50 minutes away and Bigelow Preserve (AT trail goes through there, 4k mountains). Bangor and Waterville are both 30 minutes away for all shopping needs. Obviously the big cities are far away but life up here is fantastic. You can even see the big mountains from here.

I used to be stationed at the command center in Boston. Air Station Cape Cod covers all of northern NE all the way to Burlington. You’re right, they do fly in bad weather. One time my dad had a heart attack in northern NH and DART wouldn’t fly to rescue him. Meanwhile, the CG had a bird up there doing training…

Stop using Amazon. Yes, it’s extremely convenient and I’m sure you have limited options. But the carriers are getting fucked in the ass by Amazon. My brother sometimes delivers 200 hundred packages a day, mostly Amazon. They now have “Amazon days” where the primary focus is getting those packages out. Many of them are working for free bc of the long hours and the fact their routes were evaled long ago.

My brother is a rural carrier. His post office won’t hire new people, despite being extremely overburdened. He’s owned back pay from 2 years ago. He works at least 10 hours a week without pay (route hasn’t be evaled in forever). USPS also signed a deal with Amazon to deliver packages…some days he has TWO HUNDRED. most days it’s around 130. It’s insanity. Sometimes he came only bring one package with him bc they are so large. All while his boss, who was never a driver, cracks the whip behind him.

Also, for everyone pointing all the blame on Trump and Dejoy; yes, they had a major negative impact on USPS. But it’s not just them. It’s on every congress from now going back decades. Yes, including democrats.

I’m from Colebrook, about an hour north. There’s nothing in Berlin really for fun small town stuff. But there’s some of the best hiking in the country nearby.

If I moved back to Coos, I’d probably go with Littleton. Driving through Berlin is a little depressing

What kind of stove is it? A modern catalytic stove will give you crazy long burn times. I have a Heartstone Green Mountain 60. I load it up at 9pm, and at 8am I still have a thick hot bed of coals and the stove itself is still wicked hot. I just throw more wood in and it takes off by itself.

These stoves work by recycling and burning the smoke the fire gives off. The important thing with these stoves is you need a professional with experience with these types of stoves to install it.

Animal control is still MIA. I’ve called 7 times and explained to them my dog nearly died, the offending dog shit in my yard yesterday and I fear for my safety on my property. Nbd I guess. I think I should call state police if no one reaches out to me in the next hour
