Half a companies employees are court jesters these days whose job is to entertain or make others feel smart and give the illusion they are doing value add work. Humans need drama and camaraderie and to shoot the shit with other people to make them feel good about what they are doing. This is what people will continue doing as employees.

People like being with other people generally. We will just have a more people focused service economy where people skills will be most important.

Demand is not slowing down whatsoever. Sure layoffs are happening but people are quickly finding new jobs other places. If you go out, every restaurant, bar, mall, is packed.

This is great news for space. Like it or not, the US will never increase NASAs budget too far above what it is now. But for military applications money is unlimited. So basically instead of the $20 billion the US government used to spend on space, it’s now spending $50 billion a year!

Population control through family planning encouragement needs to be funded for Africa.
The west needs more than a 0.8 fertility rate but we also can’t have a continent with a fertility rate of 4.5.
We need to get the world down to a 2 point something fertility rate plus or minus a small amount.

Big tech literally failed us so badly during the covid pandemic. It did nothing - except for Zoom who made remote working a wonderful experience.
Big Pharma rescued us.

Reply to Frank Rubio's first spaceflight will turn into the longest mission by a US astronaut by gordon22
I thought Scott Kelly stayed in space way longer but turns out it was just 340 days. It’s weird because he went up specifically because he has a twin and they wanted to study the differences of a lengthy space stay on his body vs. His twin brother on Earth to use as a control.
In retrospect only having Scott Kelly stay in space for a year was extremely unambitous. We know astronauts to Mars will be in space for nearly 2 years. We should have had him stay 2 years. I’d think if he wasn’t interested there are other qualified twins who would be.
