Can you get UI to send someone out and see where all that electricity is going? Maybe another apt is tapping into yours or you have an insanely old and inefficient fridge?

Grand Apizza North on route 5 in North Haven might be more New Yorkish. Good pie.

You looking for a Koronet style slab? Not sure where you’d find that. I’d say Bellini is kinda New Yorkish. Their calzones are the best too.

East Rock looks safe but isn’t really safe IMO. I wouldn’t live there.

NYC is closing them down too. Too bad - I think some good things came from the pandemic and one of them was dining outdoors even in less than ideal weather.

If you go w Hamden I suggest you look in the Centerville or Mt Carmel areas which are close to I-91 and the Wilbur Cross Pkwy. From there to the VA in the AM would be about 25-30 min. Another issue to factor in at the VA is parking. The lots fill up fast and you may have to spend time finding a space and then walking from it to your work site. Shouldn’t be too bad if you start at 8 AM but ask people who are there now what to expect.

I concur - as a kid in the prior millenium my dad took us there all the time when it snowed. Also in those days in the spring you could catch some tadpoles in the ponds there and put them in your fish tank and watch them metamorphose.

Yeah for that one I was stuck in the house for 4 days w the only coffee I had some tiny packet of grounds you had to boil and allow to settle before drinking. Ooooffff. Stopped laughing after that at those people who clean out the grocery store the night before a storm.
