I'm a native Californian but moved to WA almost 18 years ago. I'm in the greater Seattle Area, close to the Cascades. I have not been to MA, but have spent time on the East Coast and had inlaws from NY, so I was in that state at different times of the year and lived in VA for four months during the late spring/summer.

I would choose WA or anywhere on the West Coast over the East Coast. The cold and the humidity are huge NO's. I can't eat seafood so that doesn't matter to me for either location. And for the most part, I prefer people from the Western half of the US.

Now, as far as WA goes, it also depends on what part, Eastern or Western. But depending on what kind of weather you prefer, you'll be able to find it in WA.
