Many years ago they were called hoagies in Clearfield PA which is a lot more than 60 miles away.

I'm having the thread but which city department handles questions about alleys? My property ends at a retaining wall into the alley and I would like to know if the wall is the city's or mine.

Don't buy the Costco pumpkin pie. They are cheap and big but you can easily make a better one with the recipe on cans of pumpkin and a Pillsbury crust

Maybe Harrisburg. Look into Bethlehem also.
Many people think Lancaster is great but I wasn't that impressed with the combination of very visible homelessness in the downtown and the Amish theme park aspect of the area.

I'm sure my observations were biased by my focus on downtown.

Not to derail too much but what is so great about Lancaster? On a recent visit I found the homeless situation to be both depressing and slightly problematic (at one point we couldn't find a place to sit as all of the options were taken by the homeless). Housing felt somewhat expensive. The restaurant scene was nice but it overall felt like a decent but nothing special small city

A lot of Italians but I didn't know of any direct ties to Philly while I was living there. It was also specific. A hoagie was an Italian one. Any other sandwich on a long roll was a sub.
