I’m hearing the Deadpool theme song in my head. And the mage wouldn’t even know who Wade Wilson was.

Awaiting your next installment like my paycheck.

I would liken this to the classic lawyer-ish genie behavior of using whatever interpretation and loopholes the djinn wishes to use. In one instance bartering could be considered an intent of currency, in another instance the djinn would claim it doesn’t apply on matter of technicality.
The challenge is to word the request and attempt to gain the favor of the djinn while not expressly attempting to do so in a way that would piss off the genie or tip your hand that you’re attempting a manipulation. I wouldn’t want to be on the disfavorable side of a djinn that thought I was attempting to manipulate them.

LoL, I was recently taught how to use an old log splitter. The machine is probably from the 70s. Awesome retired CalFire trainer was very clear about not putting my fingers near the splitter... For that exact reason.
He also preferred to build callouses over wearing gloves.

Must be a story behind that.
True story: my grandfather was a mechanic and sliced his thumb off. My father had to drive him to the hospital while my grandfather held his thumb in one hand.
There were two stretchers that night.
Once at the hospital, my dad passed out and broke his nose. They kept my dad for observation of concussion.
My grandfather had his thumb sewn back on and released him. My dad was out of the hospital last because of observation time and operated to fix his nose.
