You never saw me asking for tenants that agree or disagree with the adoption of the resolution, that is for them to tell me. We all know the simple fact of the matter here and that is that many residences within the city are unsafe and requests by tenants are often ignored.

It’s not assuming any conclusion to ask for people that experience these issues to tell me if this does or doesn’t seem like a solution to their problems and why they feel that way.

Respectfully, people don’t often express concerns to student journalists in the same way that they do in a professional newsroom setting. I don’t have an abundance of people looking to me to report their issues. And even as professional journalist, it is often finding someone willing to speak on whatever it is you are covering.

It has not at all been written, I am just aware that an important part of this story is finding someone who has dealt with these issues themselves. The story in this case is relating the adoption of this resolution to issues that residents within the city have dealt with for years. Sometimes it happens the other way around. It’s all still finding news.

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll check them out.
