I dont know about your jursidiction but in Germany the shop would have full authority to get it back or demand payment.

Keeping it shouldn’t be a theft though, but again you probably don’t live in Germany so to be safe and “be the good guy” u should just call them.

Ofc you can also play risky and just put in a drawer and wait. But I wouldn’t recommend that obviously
