We used to pay a local company to mow our rather small yard, and one day, they left behind part of a rabbit, so this was actually, surprisingly, relevant to me.

We were horrified, but the dog found it first and I think it was the best day of her life (the rabbits always made her crazy). Thankfully, she didn't contract any diseases.

I often have to listen to the same part of an audiobook half a dozen times, or more if I'm really stressed. My mind is always racing over something (contributing to insomnia). Sometimes one sentence in a book will trigger a memory and a winding train of thought, and on the next listen, that same sentence will remind me that that's what started my mind wandering in the first place, and so on.

Eventually, I get sucked in and can concentrate for longer periods. Because they force me to listen, I use them for sleeping. Taking my mind away from everything else helps me fall asleep and stay asleep.

I've also found that playing simple games that don't require much thought allows me to concentrate better on the audiobook for some reason. And it tends to be easier in my experience to concentrate on books that are really funny, especially if you're driving.

Edit: tbf my mind also wanders while I'm reading. My eyes will drift across and down the page almost on their own and I will not have read any of it.

Anything Ramin Djawadi does is phenomenal. That man has too much talent for one person.

The melody he composed for The Rains of Castemere is one of the most hauntingly beautiful things I've ever heard.

What's so strange about this? The guy probably remembered that his schoolmate was abducted as typically these things are highly publicized (for good reason) but didn't know her well enough to remember her name or be able to identify her.

Seems to me he just saw the program and thought "that sounds like the girl at my school!"

Am I wrong?

The only thing noteworthy about it, which isn't mentioned here, is that his tip led to the other girl's recovery.

Funny, there was another post on the secret history that led me to believe no one was a fan of both that and the Goldfinch. People always seemed to love one and hate the other, myself included.

The Goldfinch is one of my favorite books ever but I hated the secret history. Never read the little friend bc of how much I hated the secret history.
