The future will be like Cyberpunk 2077 without that much bionic prosthetics if the world keeps going the way it is going. Printing weapons, governments working for the big Corporations instead of working for the people, advanced technology like drones being available to cartels and governments to start wars for profit. Privacy will be dead and they will take your data to send you personalized ads generated by AI which will get you to buy more because they will target a specific emotional trigger based on how your felling at the moment. The future is bright 🤡

I'm no expert but I think that until we don't have more data to map the human brain from millions of people AGI won't be sentient and will remain as just algorithms that work really well on a single task or a combination of them.

If brain computer interfaces become safe and commercially available to consumers we will have lots of brain data to develop an artificial intelligence that is actually sentient. So I think it will take a couple of decades for that to happen.
