In your estimation. Is it off the cuff, where you actually look at psychology, have you looked at medicine, have you looked at making it possible instead of saying it isn't? Have you looked at any numbers? Have you looked at methodologies? Have you looked at the parenting problem?. All of these things are actually solvable. You want to know what's not solvable? Violence-based capitalism.

EDIT: the short hand is you believe humans are too stupid to grow up, so it's not possible. Would that be a fair assessment?

Social progress is being held back by the work of Adam Smith, and the Puritan belief that idle hands are the devil's hands.

In 1982, America threw out 40% of the food it served. In the same year and for 3 decades, America alone spent as much celebrating Christmas as it would take to feed the world per capita a very rich diet for a full year. That's just one example. We are a wealthy species and our society does not reflect it.

I agree with everything you've said. I would add one caveat. We haven't really tried to terraform, with realistic amounts of resource applied. You'd need a significant amount of resources to actually attempt remediation. Resources equivalent to a significant percentage of worldwide military expenditure for 5-10 years.

You'd need a world government.

I don't think you can toss the masses around as casually as you think you can. You want to move planets? That's some immense values snd vectors of P you're going to need to change. How do you apply the ∆ V? I don't know the otder of magnitude of energy needed, but you'd probably need to convert solar energy into something that reshapes orbit.

Grinz. God doesn't need my belief. I don't need god's either, unless god decides to tell me different personally. Which is perfectly fine. In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out what humans are capable of. Can we move from fear forward? Can we finally stop caring if labradors mate with poodles? We're all humans, and we should behave to each other as such.

OP why do people point at God when they don't understand stuff? Are you deeply religious in some way?

I'm not required to understand the universe to enjoy my experience in it, not that I can tell. If you believe, why tell us? And if you don't believe, why tell us?

I'm legit starting to crack at the edges about humans and what they believe, does it show? :-). Genderless dude, I am truly glad that you feel good about something you believe. But it's your belief, and that's a private thing, no?
