Never said it wasn’t life, but it’s not a baby. A baby has a distinct definition, which means born. Until viability the fetus is wholly dependent on the mother. If she chooses not to be a fetus incubator, that’s her choice.

After viability if the government wants to make laws (which is what Roe v Wade allowed for) fine with me. With 99 percent of abortions before viability and most abortions afterwards are when the life of the mother is threatened and/or there is no chance of survival like ectopic pregnancies, a minor issue in the scheme of things.

I may up my donation as you’re annoying

He is likely going to NJIT, a very good school. That area is safe. Any city has shitty areas, a lot of suburbs do as well. Unless he is going on some drug buy in a housing project, he should be fine.

UPenn is in a bad area of Philadelphia, it’s still a good school. Parts of New Haven are bad, should people not go to Yale. Columbia is in Morningside Heights which is basically Harlem. Should people not go there.

Newark has great transit options right into Manhattan., he can jump on Amtrak to Philadelphia, DC, Boston, etc. He has Newark Airport right there to go most anywhere. I think for an international student, Newark is a better option than some rural campus in the sticks, you saw 4 students murdered in Moscow Idaho recently, but just my opinion

I assume you’re either going to NJIT or Rutgers Newark. Both have a very diverse population of students including a lot of Indian (Indian and Indian -American students). Both campuses are basically next to each other. Newark has some sketchy areas, but that area and downtown are safe. There are security guards everywhere, Prudential, which is one of the largest insurance companies in the world, is headquartered in Newark. You are also very close to NYC, regular train (NJ Transit or PATH train) right into Manhattan. You can’t beat the location in that regard.

The Redstone in Simsbury is a Liverpool bar, they open early on weekends when Liverpool is playing.

But the game is on at 3:00, so any bar that’s open and has TVs (it’s on Peacock, but most bars should have that) should have it on. In Hartford check out Vaughans or the Half Door. Both are sort of European pubs, call them up and confirm. Vaughans is downtown, the half door is in the west end. The Wood n Tap in the west end, they have their own parking lot which is nice, should also have it on

I am in the same boat, my grandfather was born in Hungary, I even paid a genealogist to get his birth certificate, but I honestly don’t want anything to do with Orban’s government (especially if Hungary is kicked out of the EU) so I am putting that on hold and looking at Slovakia and the Czech Republic (other side of the family) as they are doing something similar (and the language isn’t a requirement)

Anyway, the American Hungarian Library in NYC has language courses online. Hungarian is a very hard language to learn, it’s not really related to any other language (closest is Finnish). It doesn’t sound like you think it should, I have been to Hungary and it’s just so hard to even try and relate what you hear to what you read (like on the subway).

For a one time trip, the train is a bit nicer, but you are going south and then east to eventually go north. The bus will be much quicker. I was in Boston this summer for a golf tournament and had another golf tournament in West Hartford the following day and the only option was the bus, the train would take too long. It was fine, wasn’t too crowded, got to Hartford in about 1 hour 40 minutes

Sunday traffic is usually better, but some moron crashing into some other moron can cause a traffic jam. Also construction. I would just add in some extra time/flexibility and check traffic the day of and if need be leave a bit earlier.

Just bite the bullet and pay for parking, it’s not worth the hassle of worrying about being towed with your friend’s medical condition
