Ykw, I think this makes for a great allegory about the parents fighting over custody. The wife seems like a parent who constantly overanalyses, nitpicks, and criticizes the father's ability to care for the child when ultimately, she's not and likely won't be very present in the child's life. The scarecrow is a pretty good representation of her character; overbearing and threatening, but zero action and accountability
