Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather just order from a place that has been doing this for many years and has perfected it. Simple and quick.
I don't want to scour the internet for recipes, go to the grocery store and buy a whole bunch of ingredients (typically in portion sizes that are way more than you'll ever need), come home and start experimenting and hoping it comes out ok. And regardless of the outcome, I'll either be eating it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the next day...or throwing it away. Who wants to eat the same thing for days. Waste of time and money.

Not sure if it's the best, but you can get a good one at The Butcher Shop on Elmgrove Ave.

When someone says they're "moving from Philadelphia", it doesn't mean they're "comfortable anywhere in Philadelphia". The OP may even be from the suburbs.

Avoid the area near the hospital. It's the ghetto.

Act responsibly, styvorama. Your hostile response strongly suggests that you do plan to drink and drive.

Uber and Lyft also. But I'd still bet these fools are driving.

There is no reason to drink and drive. Plenty to do in Providence.

You're assuming the quality is the same at all of these places...and it's just a matter of finding the lowest price. I don't think that's the case.
I've never made corned beef so I could be wrong, but I can tell you that there is definitely a difference in the quality of other meats at these stores. Walmart is pretty much the worst. And I wouldn't buy meats at Aldi or Price Rite.

It's invasive but I'm glad they do it. I mean, I don't think anyone likes it being done to them but who wouldn't want it done to people you don't know.

Edited to add: This is why frisking is good. To avoid this:

This has nothing to do with Hartford or Newark.
Walking alone at night in Mt Hope is definitely not a good idea.

You've been here for all of 2 months, and you think it's safe to walk alone at night in Mt Hope.
It's naive people like you that we end up reading about in the news.

I'll take it a step further and say that even the ones that are sweet around their owners, they can be vicious around other people.

Crimes of opportunity do happen regularly in the rougher (and sometimes not so rough) areas of Providence. Nearly everybody carries a valuable phone.
The media doesn't cover that.
