Because Apple has been quietly watching from the sidelines, collecting data on the “meh” experience, and fixing what makes it “meh” to begin with.

Actually it does. My current phone I’m typing this on has been completely submerged several times. Other than the “water detected in charge port, wait to charge” warning, it’s perfectly fine….

You know all iPhones made in the last few years are waterproof and totally submersible...right?

(Downvote me all you want, using this word while texting friends or whatnot is one thing, using it online in social media or in public makes you look like you never passed grade 5…..whether you realize it or not.)
