They're both crazy, but I'd say Mad Max (only because I can't believe no one died while filming those stunts).

I feel this way frequently, but then a spinoff/sequel/prequel will randomly get announced that makes me excited all over again.

I feel like hiring the right screenwriter and action director could get people excited again, but you might be right (and they'd probably just f*** it up again anyway). I'd just hate to see the franchise fizzle out like that...

Don't hate me, but I think The Matrix franchise could be [somewhat] salvaged with a new director.
(And as bad as the last one was, I'd bet we'd all still line up to see another one.)

Especially amazing considering it was directed by a 70 year old (whose last few movies included Happy Feet and Babe: Pig in the City)!
