Some people have problems with the clamping force of some Senny's.. I would say give them a bit of time to loosen up.. on my HD6XX the pads don't touch when I lay them on my table and I have pads that are taller than the stock ones. They're mostly plastic and foam too, but very comfortable. I am guessing the 560s are at least a little similiar to my pair.

So I would say give it some time, that is if you like their sound. Wearing headphones in is definitely a thing from my experience.

Wow this got quite long, but here you go:

I own a FiiO K5 pro and the Xduoo TA-26 and use both, but to be honest here, my onboard audio can handle the HD 6XX just fine. I tested it a few times and I really would love to say it was worse, but it was honestly fine and, as far as I remember, not much different.

I've yet to plug my headphones in some amp-dac setup and say: "wow, what a difference!", so there's that.

My setup is more for looks and the feeling it gives me. Warm, slightly glowing tubes, dedicated volume knobs, all of that is very nice, but I'd be lying if I would tell you that these amps blew me away in comparison (the TA-26 is just solid state sound that's slightly fuller, like 10% difference at best). I also believe that dacs barely differ from each other if their goal is a neutral soundprofile. The FiiO works just as well as a 1k dac I've tried at a friend's place. He was quite shocked, which I found very entertaining lol.

But take this with a sprinkle of salt. I am sure that not every onboard audio solution is as good as dedicated dacs and amps. It's just my motherboard that works fine and others might not. My phone with the EU Samsung dongle doesn't get loud enough and the bass is actually reduced and my Nintendo Switch also seemed to be lacking in some aspects.

In the end it's up to trying things out. A and B testing with matched volume, finding out by yourself if there's a need for amplification. Heck if money isn't an issue then go nuts, it's a great flex, but on the other hand there are many on here that want the best bang for their buck and that's totally fine.

So we should stop lying and tell them the truth: it always depends if you actually need thing xy, so try before you make your wallet cry. Heck even I'm a little bit biased because all of this stuff I purchased was expensive for me. But I am really trying to swallow my pride here and tell you what I've actually experienced.

As and example: my last few weeks consisted of swapping tubes like some lunatic only to be sitting there, sad and alone in my room, trying to deal with the fact that there's barely any perceivable difference between all of them.

TL;DR: I sometimes wish some devices made as big of a difference as some people claim. In the end you have to try things by yourself and decide. I personally wasted some money (on tube rolling) that could've been used for something else.

Edit: oh btw, I didn't talk about things like hissing sounds from some aux ports or USB ports picking up GPU sounds and such. Some dac-amp solutions might help here, especially optical cables (these fixed the issue of my tube amp picking up random noise from my PC).

looks very clean but this is more to my liking (also holy heck that wa7 is kinda expensive, I wanna stay below 500€) :) handmade in all of its glory. I think this is basically the European Bottlehead Crack alternative. I have no idea if this will change a damn thing, but this and a pair of ZMF will complement each other beautifully.

I really wonder why so many reviews act like it's a night and day difference then :/ I want my salt and pepper lol.

I am thinking about getting rid of my TA-26 and saving up for a Eufonika H5 with Miflex capacitors. Just as a last try with tube amps. The TA-26 is slightly softer than my FiiO, but only by a very, very tiny amount, almost not noticeable (I've volume matched like a madman and tested around a lot). The difference is not worth the price imo, but I'm not done just yet. I like the looks of tubes and that one amp is on my list now. That and a pair of ZMF, then I will run away from here and never look back lmao.

That and a little bit of EQ for certain genres. My HD 6XX don't lack bass for me either, but sometimes, when I really need more, I simply EQ it in. Sadly tubes don't give me as much bass as I expected. Like none at all even.

If you really want to push these to "their limit" then you will as well push your poor ears to their limits. You might be better off with something else if you want this slam and you don't achieve this by making your ears bleed.

If I were you I would read into running a external subwoofer with your cans if you want to feel more, or these simply aren't for you and you need idk, meeze 99? Or other cans with strong bass and dynamic sound.

I have a slight tinnitus from partying years ago and trust me, you don't want to have this. Loudness won't get you anywhere, maybe EQ will help, but please take good car of your ears, you can't simply swap these if they ever get damaged.

Anything gaming branded is more often than not terribly made. Especially headphones, like even their pricing is ridiculous and all you get is audio that sounds like it comes out of a tin can.

get some Senny's or Beyerdynamic headphones that are easy to drive without and amp, or similiar, slap a modmic on it, congratulations, you are done.

Alternatively, get a Hyper X headset, they're still not great, but solid enough.

Gear can only do so much. Many people really think that their gear can make them better but in the end it's just their shortcomings holding them back. Like who cares about lightning fast keyboards when your reaction time is the slowest part in the chain? Who cares about the perfect headphone when cheap ones do the same things in terms of hearing the enemy?

The whole gaming equipment marketing is more snake oil than stuff on this sub sometimes.

I just feel very empty sometimes (I regret going to university after having worked full time, now I have nothing relevant to do and uni feels like a huge waste of time) and music makes me feel a little less empty so I won't lose it while writing papers and such.

But the magic for me is not spending thousands, 6XX are enough for me and I have tried HD800's multiple times for more than just a few minutes. I like my 6XX more. Now everything is about music. I have 10TB of music in flac format (I keep a backup for a friend in case his stuff ever breaks), more than 300k tracks from old classics to music that came out in like 2010ish and it's a lot of fun to go through all kinds of genres and I also add more and more to the collection over time.

So for me it's more about the music, but the 6XX definitely contribute to that. They sound so natural, everything is just right, nothing feels bloated or unrealistic and that makes me appreciate a lot of music I never listened to before I got them.

I still remember my purchase of some wired Sennheiser momentum IEMs for like 80€ and my God, very expensive for absolutely no reason. Some 20ish € IEMs of today do the same things.

HD6XX however.. Chefs kiss, my God, I love them!

How big is the difference? I swapped so many tubes and so far I couldn't really say that something changed. Tung-sol 6SN7, RCA 6SN7, Foton tubes from the 60's, RCA 6SN7 and for power tubes RCS 6080 and Jan Sylvania 6080.. Settled on the Tung-sol and the Sylvania in the end but I can't really say that they're better than the rest.

I'm in general confused by the TA-26 because it's so clean. It sounds almost as clear as my FiiO K5 pro, there are only some sub bass and maybe dynamics that are a little different, but only very slightly.

I like a mid forward sound and I adore my 6XX (modded, pad swapped and on tubes) for their capabilities so it's no wonder that the Zeros were disappointing to me.

But I gotta say, the Harman tuning is very solid. On for example EQ'd KZ ZS10 pros it was absolutely terrible to listen to them with the target. Sounded like a tin can.

So in their budget they're good, but not what I want and their technical performance is not enough for me.

Very interesting but I hope they will sound good in practice too. The Truthear Zero disappointed me. Muddy as hell despite being pretty much Harman target + a ton of bass. They also ruined every song where realistic bass was required. The subwoofer is great and all but way too strong.

But I'm no IEM person so I don't know how good these things can be. I adore my 6XX and I wonder if there are IEMs for the same price that perform better or just as good.

FiiO is awesome, I hope these will be nice. Semi open sounds awesome and the price seems competitive.
