Can someone summarize for me exactly what I'm supposed to be outraged about here?

Maybe. Sometimes. It depends.
I don't think it's good advice to just let loose every negative feeling you have, unless your goal is to end up with no friends.

About 30 years ago, my friend pointed out to me that buses always "plunge" off cliffs in news stories. I've been noticing it ever since.

My cousin married a 19-year man when she was 42 and had a 16-year-old daughter.
Guess what? She's in her 80s now and they're still married. Happily, from what I can see.
It's nobody's business. If you don't want to do it yourself, you don't have to.

Don't date anyone underage is the only rule.
If you're smart, there are lots of situations you'll avoid, but that isn't a rule.

Date whomever you want who wants to date you. There are no rules.
