I would take Moore Street over McLeans. Better vibe, faster service, and sorry for bringing politics into it, but if such things matter to you, McLeans is super Trumpy, always has Glen Youngkin there anytime he needs a photo op in a diner setting.

McLeans used to have a great chicken fried style steak but switched over to a frozen one. Moore street also has a frozen one, but when I asked at Moore they told me so.

I went for many years and loved it, then went back last October, it sucked so hard we haven't been back.

Like, we made a point of getting take out multiple times during the pandemic because we loved the place so much and wanted to support it.

Our visit was right when the new owners took over so hopefully they have pulled out of the tailspin they were in.

So just a thought, wouldn't you break this down into authentic tacos and gringo tacos? I think the two things are so different, for authentic I'd go with La CabaƱa which is a a hole in the wall but great.

For the Gringo tacos, that's tougher, i feel like a lot of people have done "elevated cuisine" with lamb and caviar tacos for 20 bucks a taco and it's never been worthwhile.
