Those connectors can be crazy tight if they are new, i remember the horror of trying to remove cable first time with my HD800.

Wow! You EQ more treble to Utopia, never expected thing like that to happen.

I use OG Utopia from tube-amp mostly, it gets bass boost but i think its not that bad because stock bass is tad lean and high treble balances thing a bit.
