Given the date on the text message, this looks like it's a week before the city council passed their local ordinance on the matter. And the deadline state-wide for those ordinances was August 21. Which is the sort of government work I could easily see one official asking another:

>"Do you have a map for where marijuana is going to be allowed in Hoboken?"

Where's the part about the dispensary?

I had a summons for late July, usual Monday start. I got an email the Friday morning before saying:

>Please allow this e-mail to inform you that your jury service is complete as of [Friday date]. The virtual petit jury selection process that was to begin [Monday date], has now been completed, and your service is no longer required. We kindly ask that you please do not call or email the office to confirm, the validity of this email. YOUR SERVICE IS COMPLETE.
>
>Thank you very much for your commitment and your willingness to serve as a juror.

First time I've ever finished jury duty before it was supposed to start. A+++ would serve again.

> Have you not heard of all these drug stores closing down due to massive shoplifting? Its happening all over NYC and its becoming a problem in some areas because people no longer have access to a drug store close by.

About that…

> In fact, the two reported Manhattan Rite Aid closures appear to be part of a nationwide downsizing. In December, Rite Aid said it would be closing 63 stores “to reduce costs, drive improved profitability, and ensure that we have a healthy foundation to grow from, with the right stores in the right locations, for the communities we serve and for our business.” Shoplifting was not a listed rationale. Asked about the Manhattan store closures — and whether shoplifting played any role — a Rite Aid spokesperson says only that that the decisions “are based on a variety of factors that retail businesses consider such as overarching business strategy, lease and rent considerations, local business conditions and viability, and store performance.” Again, no mention of shoplifting.

Will just add the last day for pre-orders from Darke Pines is tomorrow per their email list:

>The last day for Thanksgiving pre-orders will be Wednesday, 11/16.Turkey parts (legs, breasts, etc.) will be available in-store on a first-come, first-served basis. Whole turkey availability for walk-ins will be limited.

Also looks like they may already be out of turkey?

(Got my turkey there last year, was extremely happy with it. But definitely $$$$$.)
