I remember hearing speculation not long after they took over again that they would deliberately create humanitarian crises in order to get international aid packages. This was right around the moment they found out they wouldn't have access to the previous governments finances and they were getting black listed for aid from every western nation.

The fuck up was getting thc product when they meant to get cbd product. The thc was not intentional.

It's less amazing when you realize they can get away with shit like this with no real immediate consequence. They know nobody will do anything to them because of this. But they also know pushing the big red button will get them immediately retaliated against. So they don't push that button.

I think it was how they got by pre US invasion. Maybe they just assumed things would go back to that or something.
