BRT is a bait and switch. It promises rapid transit benefits at bus prices, but at best you spend just as much as light rail to get a system permanently hobbled by bus shortcomings, or you get "BRT creep" and nothing but a different paint job on some bendy buses.

It's a great solution in countries with low labor and land costs where all rail infra would be imported. But it's never lived up to promises in a wealthy nation. We already have the Boulevard Direct bus, its better than before, but it's not enough to transform the Northeast like a subway would.

It's a shame Penn was allowed to knock down the Civic center. It was a gorgeous building with a ton of history, and could have been modernized for restored hockey programs and an excellent concert venue.

Preserving the Reading Terminal was good. Unfortunately the rest of it seems like a mediocre convention center that doesn't make up for the dead zone it creates.

Manayunk/Roxborough. Tons of weird intersections and all the traffic gets concentrated onto a handful of streets that go more tgan a couple blocks. And in the morning rush the backup for the Green lane bridge completely paralyzes the area.

It’s just incredibly poorly organized. Because they run it in order of increasing complexity, the gaps between groups get larger and larger as the day goes on.

Technically she’s still the fastest vessel to cross the Atlantic in scheduled passenger service.

Unfortunately I suspect the limit is there to prevent people from arbitraging pretax or reduced fares into a more liquid debit balance, so they may not be flexible on it.

And for the future, research your options for prepaid debit accounts. I don’t know that much about them, but septa key appears to be worse for fees.

Basically the tldr is you can activate the debit feature, but it’s not a great idea because the fees are absurd. There are better reloadable debit options, eg Amex Bluebird.

Lancaster airport is a bit outside of the town where the train station is, not sure how reliable Uber is out there.

The cards don't last, the regional rail mode was rushed out during the pandemic, and there's been no visible progress on e-wallet support.

Instead they're focused on this stupid qr code app that's going to cause chaos at the fare ox because it's slow and kludgy.

I knew they'd start focusing on tourist features once key was barely functional for daily commuters.
