Yeah I've done it but I was broken down in my own town.

I currently have AAA and fortunately have not had to use it much. It could get you closer to your home but if there's a place to repair in between that's where they'll take you. So I don't know if they would cover it at all for a car that is completely non functional. Fortunately my issues have mostly been dead batteries and they come out and give me a charge. Next step, battery store LOL.

I think that tow only goes to nearest repair facility though.

We actually do have several refineries, especially in Anacortes and Bellingham. But whose oil is it being refined? I personally think oil companies purposefully stick it to west coast states.

Maybe get educated in how laws work? The $35 tab initiative was an illegal initiative that should have never been put on the ballot. A permanent change to DST requires approval from congress which the dozen or so states that have voted for it are still waiting on. The mandatory voting law is just a proposal at this point.

It is desert-like. It is not desert. It is shrub-steppe. There are grasses, sage, phlox, and many other plants that grow naturally. You don't have that in a desert. The only deserts in the u.s. are the Mohave, Great Basin, Sonoran, and Chihuahuan.

I would think its safer and that makes it worth it.

Only time I hear it is Central Washington state fair, which is held in Yakima.

Technically though, we have no deserts. We have too much precipitation to be classified as such. What we have is shrub-steppe. And none of it is high elevation. About 1600 ft ASL at most. Southeastern part of Oregon - now that's high desert. 4500 ft ASL at Burns.

Silver Falls and Grove of the Patriarchs are easy trails from Ohanepecosh campground. However there may not be access at this time of year. For sure you will not be able to get there via Chinook pass.

National and state parks always seem to have a need for forest rangers. People for rehabilitation of trails etc. Mt Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. Mt St Helens National Monument. Also various forest service areas such as Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest. Dozens of state parks too.

Isn't it Yellowstone with all the fools gored by buffaloes or falling in hot springs?
