Well, Paramount+ and Peacock are fighting individually, while there's a really good idea in this joint venture. Together they would have a great amount of shows and movies and an enviable streaming sports programming. The market is bad and we will see some consolidations this year and next.

It's a fun and simple comedy. A gem that many people think is better than Ted Lasso.
That's what I feel with Trying, a comedy also by Apple, which has already been renewed for season 4, and I think it's sad that few people watch it. Lucky to be at Apple.

No. Apple is a producer from S2 and global distributor. They announced the renewal for S2, by the way.

There was even a date set for filming the new season. Apple sometimes does not announce some renewals.
Tehran has not been officially renewed, but they are already filming S3 in Athens. The Big Door Prize hasn't even premiered, but they've already started filming S2. Foundation's S3 is already in production and they start filming in April (S2 only opens in the summer).
People find out through tweets, photos or production listings.

Some thoughts on Apple, which I follow more:
I don't think Ted Lasso will be eligible for this year. I think they only open in June or July.
Shrinking is a comedy series; As far as I know it's not a limited series.
I think Apple should invest in Shrinking and Hello Tomorrow in comedy (The Academy likes Billy Crudup).
I think the limited series categories are going to be extremely dependent on The Masters of the Air. If it's good, the Academy will love to award a really big, big-budget show with an A-list team behind it.
Extrapolations has a strong cast (Maryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Matthew Rhys, Tobey Maguire, Edward Norton, Keri Russell...), but I don't think the episodic anthology has a chance.

Reply to Any update on new Speed Racer series? by HeyHorvat
Apple seems pretty patient, but still, JJ managed to get them to drop a project (My Glory Was I Had Such Friends). I think it was the first project really abandoned by Apple since TV+ debuted. On the other hand, Presumed Innocent has started filming. We'll see how long Apple holds Speed Race in development.

They film two seasons at a time. S4 is already starting filming in the coming weeks. The S2 of The Big Door Prize, an unreleased comedy show, has already started production. Foundation's S3 also starts filming at the beginning of the year and S2 doesn't even have a release date. Another season of Acapulco is already in production, with Apple not saying anything about renewal either.

Reply to Streaming’s Golden Age Is Suddenly Dimming. After years of breakneck growth, the number of scripted TV series orders made by networks and streamers is in decline. by 08830
"There are a few outliers to this year’s trend: Apple TV+ and Amazon have increased the number of adult scripted series they have purchased this year."
It's an easy bet that Amazon and Apple are the places that content creators will go from now on. That's where the money is and some stability, albeit without guarantees. It's been 3 years since people discussed who will win the streaming war, but the answer has always been easy - who has the money to not need it.

"Of course, if and when WBD decides to sell itself to Comcast or Apple or Amazon in 2024? Well, all bets are off."
The question is whether anyone will want to buy it. Amazon has dozens of IPs to work with and Apple seems confident that 100% original content and live sports are their backbone. Anyway, it seems to me that Zaslav bought it hoping the era of "content is king" would last longer.

“‘Tulsa King’ scored as the #1 new series of the year, topping all others including the ‘Game of Thrones’ sequel ‘House of the Dragon,’ with its preview on Paramount Network, and on Paramount+, it shattered records, driving us to our biggest new sign-up day in history – which is why we instantly greenlit season two,” said Chris McCarthy, president & CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios.

Reply to This is why streaming Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO Max keeps getting more expensive by Carolina_Heart
Companies paved the way for streaming as the solution, but now they realize it's not profitable. Too late, as the cable won't come back. Wall Street has already turned its back. Apple and Amazon will inflate sports values until no other company can compete. And that's it.
If you can not afford to use streaming only as a component of an ecosystem or to feed the prestige ego, like the two aforementioned bigtechs, you will die fighting.

Reply to AMC Networks To Cut 20% Of U.S. Workforce As Cord Cutting, Streaming Costs, Economic Jitters Roil Media by MarvelsGrantMan136
AMC has some shows with potential such as Dark Winds, Moonhaven, Interview with a Vampire, Mayfair Witches, Straight Man, Parish, Invitation to a Bonfire, Alan Wake and the 3 new TWD spinoffs featuring the most beloved characters.
But really they have nothing to do. Cable is a dead issue, advertising money is draining away, and they're not going to make AMC+ a success that even pays for itself. They might partner with another streamer now, but at some point there will be no reason for AMC to exist.
They have some good current and upcoming shows and they should sell out to someone. But who wants to buy? I think some of these projects would be good for Apple.

Please do not. If there's any streaming that still gives me confidence, it's AppleTV. And this is definitely not because of well-known IPs and generic action movies. I admire Apple's move to build above-average quality original programming and efforts to give content creators space to properly start and end their shows. All streaming movements show an increasing focus on IPs and expanded universes and less originality. Only Apple still seems to run away from this nonsense.

I said it's not much for Apple. It's a loss that wouldn't matter to them, but it's an excellent financial deal for MLS. MLS has a younger audience than other leagues. They will easily migrate to streaming. The league is still weak (in terms of technical quality), but they are improving and soccer should get a buzz in America with the 2026 World Cup

$250m a year for Apple is nothing. MLS strikes me as more of a "first look" at what they can do with sports broadcasts for other leagues than something AppleTV sees as profitable. It's their real introduction to the sports rights market, and based on how traditional media companies are doing, Apple will end the decade with all the big leagues.

Sheridanverse is a phenomenon.
I love Yellowstone. I do not even know why. My husband and I also cried with 1883, which was last year's best limited series.
Open your hearts to the Duttons. Forget the "good writing" that this sub loves (although no one knows what that means) and enjoy this journey.

It's a great show, but nothing groundbreaking like the media and reddit make it out to be. Episode 3 itself is nothing amazing; it's just a good episode.
I think people are a little too emotional. Again, it's a great show and I would be 100% if the teen died. She's boring as hell and I think the worst part of the show.
