I honestly wasn't trying to generalize human musicians as all being anti-AI, so I edited my comment so it doesn't come off that way.

I'm not making anyone do anything. I posted a comment, which people can agree or disagree with or ignore. You've decided to respond to my comment negatively and melodramatically and that's fine.
I'm also aware that not all musicians will hate AI art; some will like having more options. It gets frustrating to read so much hate towards AI progress that'll help everyone, so I'm venting my frustration towards the inevitable hate in a subreddit.

The idea that I'm "trying to generate controversy" is ridiculous. Look at my post history; it's almost entirely positive. I'm just acknowledging the reality that musicians will complain about AI music like artists complain about AI art.

Every sample sounds great. I can't wait until AI music synthesis becomes even more advanced.

There's nothing to be sorry about. I can see why people would think that. Ray Kurzweil definitely popularized the term; most people (including myself) first heard about the technological singularity from him.

John von Neumann was the first person to use the word "singularity" in terms of a technological singularity (and this term itself was coined by Vernor Vinge).

Anime therapy. Watch something happy like Nichijou. Don't watch something dark like Neon Genesis Evangelion; I'm afraid that show wouldn't be good for someone like you who sees conspiracies in everything.

"by 2030 we will own nothing and be happy"
You've said that quote a million times, but people will be able to manufacture what they want with nanofactories, so we will continue to own things, regardless of the dumb claims made by elitists from the World Economic Forum.

There will most definitely be literally no jobs in the 2040's because of automation.

What? I recommended getting an Internet job so they'll still get money.
Sashinii t1_j5lb432 wrote
My advice is to get an Internet job and keep it until AI automates all jobs (which, given how fast AI progress accelerates, should happen this decade).
Not having to work for a living isn't a bad thing, it's a good thing, but I do understand the concerns about how well the translation between work and non-work will be handled.
Supporting UBI is the best option until post-scarcity starts with the advent of the nanofactory.

I don't support crypto shit and I hate fascism (it's crazy that someone has to say that, it should just be a given to anyone who isn't a fool, but there you go).

ChatGPT sucks. It being so inoffensive offends me. It's like ResetEra made a chatbot and made it as bland as possible. But thankfully, open source uncensored chatbots will happen at some point.

I need more evidence than a stupid comment he made in 2006 before I'd called him a "fascist", but even if he sucks, that nonsense isn't what the Foresight Institute supports.
Also, there's no need to be rude. You seem defensive and stressed. I recommend watching a wholesome slice of life anime like Yuru Camp to brighten your day.

The Foresight Institute is the most inclusive and forward-thinking company that I know of, and while I can't say that I'm a fan of everyone who's ever been a speaker or an employee of the company, I've never seen anyone there support fascism.

I think the singularity will enable a reality better than any idea of utopia in 2030.
Also, I didn't know the Foresight Institute had a Reddit account. Hello to my favorite think tank.
