Just checked it out. It's definitely teen-oriented, so not really my thing.

I'm really looking forward to The Fall of the House of Usher.

I've enjoyed all of Mike Flanagan's Netflix mini-series (except The Midnight Club, which I haven't seen yet). Midnight Mass was especially good, with some very thoughtful and thought-provoking dialog regarding the nature of sin, guilt, and death.

Which is pretty much what the first episode was all about. It's a silly premise if you are even vaguely aware of how active organized crime is in cities of the "flyover" states.

Now, if the show was called "Lawton King" or "Muskogee King," that would be an interesting premise.

Plenty of organized crime in Tulsa and OKC, too. The idea that someone is just going to waltz in and take over Tulsa because it's just a podunk backwater town is laughable.

"Yes, comrade, it is true that we have replaced all the fine Western products with shittier Russian versions. But at least we won't have all those homosexuals and transsexuals to tempt corrupt us anymore!"
