I live in the North Cascades. Its grey most of the winter. Seattle actually has more sun. East of the mountains may be sunny, but its cold, really cold and its snows. If you want consistent sun in winter on the west coast, it can be found in California or Arizona. That is why people leave here in the winter for places like Florida or the above mentioned. The PNW is grey, not all grey all the time, but to a person from Florida it will seem all grey through the winter.

I love the beauty and climate here in Washington. Its the best state I have found for recreation. I am here for the long haul. But it is the most sexist and whitest state I have ever lived in. It is also the most corporate, business friendly state I have lived in. Great for employers, not great for workers. No income tax, but property taxes are really high.

I get what you are saying in theory.....

In my area it did nothing to benefit, a number of friends own local restaurants, so not plainly untrue. My statement is true for my area. I can understand if its different in large Metro areas, but like I said, delivery is dead in my area. No side hustle delivery jobs here. No greater food choices for my community. That is def a net cost to my community as a whole.
