It's not in New Hampshire but in Maine there is a chain of stores called Mardens that might be what you're looking for.

Recently had some installed and I've passed quite a few cops since and haven't had any issues. As you said avoid the emergency lights colors and it's fine.

Just know you're lucky they just gave you a ticket because they can tow your car when pulled over for an expired registration.
