NY kid from Long Island here, that has moved all over and now lives in Baltimore, I can relate. The great thing about this city is the way it adopts people. If you ever choose to move back here you will instantly be a Baltimorean again!!

Thank you!! Share the road people, lives are at stake. Maryland is the worst with people speeding up when someone puts on their blinker. You are operating deadly machinery, act like it.

Reply to Question: in Baltimore, as a current tenant of a property, is it illegal to answer questions from prospective tenants during a property viewing? by karrotkween
Not a legal expert, but this is weird. I rent rooms in my home and lead with the negatives. (No central ac, shared bathroom, no cable, etc.) I wouldn’t put someone in an uncomfortable situation. I encourage my current roommate to ask the new tenant questions and talk with them. All parties should be satisfied with accommodations. As a landlord it is different. I remember asking one once if there were young single people in a complex and they couldn’t answer demographic questions, rightfully so.

Reply to Potentially moving to Baltimore by psychissick
I moved here for school and loved it, bought a home here. Crazy easy to make friends (compared to NY where I was before). Safety is a concern, learn some street smarts. But I as a female still walk and jog everywhere. Keep valuables out of sight, don’t walk around on your phone, etc. Super fun and cheap, love it!

Super easy to make friends, hard to keep them. Many people move away:( It’s like it is a starter city. Please stay and help build up!

Reminds me a little of the factory photos of the Baltimore majolica pottery with the kids, but those had a brick background.

We are closed this Sunday. But stop in anytime, the owners are awesome. The photo may be used as inspiration, but the art cannot be “substantially similar” or it is copyright infringement. Good luck!

Stop into The Baltimore Ary Gallery in Hampden, we have a bunch of local artists, some of whom do abstract acrylics. I work there tomorrow, and most Sundays. You can see their work and I can give you their cards. Question though: is this a photograph you have the right to use or is it from internet? This makes a difference whether it can be copied exactly, or needs to be changed or just used as inspiration.

Soft disagree. Yes, please take precautions to be safe. But I think the best parts are away from the touristy inner harbor. I love the nightlife in Hampden, Charles Village, and Fells Point. The Walters and Baltimore Art Museum are great.

Reply to Artist Relocating to Baltimore With Questions On Neighborhood s by MeaninglessLiving13
I am an artist and have been here for 10 years. The old artsy areas, Station North, Hampden, Patterson, have gotten expensive. Studio spaces are more commercial and through the roof. What is your budget? I am in Charles Village, very walkable to Station North and Hampden, but costs are high. I recommend thinking creatively about studio space. Rent a room where they have a basement or garage you can use, or something like that. The last time I looked for outside space I was pretty shocked by the closets places were calling studios.
